An amateur skygazer using Google Maps came across a big rounded depression in northern Quebec. Staff at Quebec’s geological survey confirmed it is a colossal meteorite impact crater roughly 390 million years near Lake Mistassini. The terrain feature resembles other confirmed craters and points to a major ancient collision. Satellite images were compared in detail field data to validate the finding.
