Ed Harris complained initially about his limited part in the spin-off in Dutton Ranch, the Yellowstone spin-off. He thought the role was meaningless and demanded to quit. Harris told Variety, 'bluntly Get me the f- out of here' as he exited the set. He later agreed to return for Season 2 to return for Season 2. The show’s boss reworked the plot and gave his character new responsibilities. That change led Harris decide to stay. Deadline now says he will appear again in the part.
